As the first rays of light
filter through the lace curtains.
Fresh light pours into
my day.
Awakening thoughts and moods
to hold onto this new dawn.
Wish it would last forever
linger into tomorrow.
Alas, as the dawn fades away
into the snowy afternoon
and evening falls,
I await and pray
for a glorious new dawn
to wake again
and embrace the moment.
