Caged Bird Free Verse poem by Jennifer Jo Fay

Caged Bird

I am perched here in the shadows
of my pain.  I hibernate now
my feathers torn and plucked, fallen
my mind ripped to shreds.  Bitterness

sets in and my sorrows are deep.
I lost my lover and scattered
thoughts of love today descended
into a rocky abyss fills

my caged soul.  My love feels wounded
like the fragile bird that refrains
from breathing.  Daggers pierced my soul.

I read this saying today and liked it.

Check out my paperdoll posts where my paper dolls are for sale on each of my blogs:  I would love some sales.
