Lovely Pearls a Free Verse Poem by Jennifer Jo Fay

Lovely Pearls

Lost in a moment of thoughts she pulled
at her silent heart.  Choked strands of pearls
hugged tight to her neck.  Her love broke
away at the string that binds tragic

love lost.  She stands surrounded, peacock
feathers comfort, but do not possess
love.  Precious pearls are falling apart
and sullen Georgia wishes to mend

her broken heart.  But her pearls are one
by one disappearing into a
deep, dark hole of her sad, dismal grave.
She was on the edge of watery tears,

threatening to waltz in with the storm
that beckons her breaking heart. Tidal
waves are ready to crash and destroy
all signs of her expectations of love.
She is now on a jagged edge, breaking.
